IPMS SA Nationals 2019 Competition Rules
Please read the notes below carefully before entering your models, because they contain important rule changes.
· Any models entered incorrectly may not be judged.
· If you are at all unsure about which class to enter, please contact the Competition Secretary before the event.
· The Competition Secretary would much rather spend time before the event ensuring models are entered in the correct class than run the risk of competitors being disqualified and disappointed on the day, when it may not be possible to rectify any mistakes.
· No entries will be changed into different classes after the Show has opened; this causes delay at the start of the Competition.
How to Enter
· Entry forms will be available at http://goo.gl/forms/nHpOQUkPgb
· Entries may be submitted from Friday 23 August 2019 at 12:00 and close on Sunday 15 September 2019 at 23:00.
· REGRET NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED.
· There are no limit on the number of models that any competitor may enter.
· You should pre-register a model, even if you are not certain whether it will be ready for Nationals. This is far better than completing a model after the closing date for registration and then wishing that you had entered it.
· Entry is subject to a valid IPMS SA affiliated club membership. You may register a membership with IPMS Cape Peninsula at the Registration/Administration desk on the day should you not be a member of an IPMS SA affiliated club at R150.00 for a year membership.
What to do on the day?
· Entrants are allowed to place their entries on the correct tables on Friday 20 September 2019 from 16:00 to 20:00.
· The Competition Area will open at 08:00 on the Saturday of Nationals.
· Collect your entry cards from the Registration/Administration Desk at the entrance to the Competition Area from 08:00 until 09:30 (early collection is advised to avoid delays at closing time).
· Once you have your Entry Cards you may place your models on the Competition tables if you have not done so the previous Friday evening.
· All classes will be clearly marked out and labelled on the tables to aid in the
placement of models.
· It is your responsibility to place the models with their Entry Cards on the correct
table.
· Please ask for help from a Steward or one of the Competition Staff if you are unsure about where you should place your entry.
· The Entry Card will specify:
o The Competition class
o The unique model entry number
o The title of your model
o A "details" section, which allows you to give the judges some information
about the work that you have done, and which kit(s) or add-on parts (if any) you have used.
· Please feel free to attach further details to your entry card.
· Remember that no judge, however experienced, can be familiar with every kit that ever was, and sometimes extra information provided can make all the difference to the judges when coming to a decision.
· Due to space constraints, no more than two photographs can be placed with the models.
· A detailed Competition timetable, including times of judging and the awards ceremony, will be available at the Competition Desk.
· All entrants will be expected to form part of the judging teams. When the announcement is made for judges to form up, please report. It is advised that judges provide their own pens (no pencils please). Judges are allowed to use visual aids such as penlight torches and magnifying glasses.
